Angelica Di Chiara-Hardin paints memories of her growing-up years in picturesque Italy and visits to many places in Europe.
"I was a wild child," she said, "I had to explore."
When she was young, she decided that languages and art would be her future. "Well actually, people are my first love, I love to mingle and learn about them." Languages and art are her way of connecting with people.

Emerging Artist: Angelica Di Chiara-Hardin, December 2006
Day job: Artist.
Influences: Italian and Dutch masters including Michelangelo Buonarroti, Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio, Jan Vermeer and Rembrandt van Rijn.
Art form: Representational acrylic paintings, with an Italian flavor (buildings, fruit and wine bottles). "I actually love still life with a touch of a landscape background," Di Chiara-Hardin says.
Process: "My paintings literally start with hours of thinking," she says. "I am meticulous with my under-paintings, but I seem to end up adding new objects just as I get close to being finished. I paint what I see, as well as what I'd like to see."
